After dealing with Crossfire and people calling me with reports of home fire I never thought it would happen to me.

At 7:30 in the evening, my family was sitting at home when my husband, Jim, came into the living room and asked if we smelled anything funny. We all said no and he went to our room to start checking the strange smell. My six-month-old grandson was woken when Jim went to put his shoes on. He sat down to calm the baby and the Crossfire alarms went off. Seconds later the downstairs alarms went off.

We all jumped up and ran to the door. Jim went to the basement where the blower motor to our coal furnace was on fire. We was able to put out the fire, which caused even more smoke. Until the fire was out we had not noticed any smoke, but our Crossfire detectors did! Thank God we had them!
